Next week, the Colorado Legislature will hold a special session starting Monday, Aug. 26 – Wednesday, Aug. 28. Our sources tell us short-term rentals will be on the agenda involving property taxes.
We Need You to Speak Up:
We don’t have specifics yet, but we and other Colorado groups encourage everyone to contact their policymakers today! We encourage you to reach out to your state senator and representative and include the following:
- Your personal story
- How STRs have impacted you and your family
- Why an additional tax on STRs would be detrimental to your livelihood

Town Board Study Session: Hosted STRs on the Agenda!

The town board will hold a special study session on hosted short-term rentals next Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 5 PM, with limited public comment. EVSTRA representatives plan to attend, and we strongly encourage you to join us.
Expected topics to be discussed include:
- Reexamine the Bed & Breakfast classification and potentially create a new classification for hosted rentals
- This would still require the owner of the rental to be present during a guest’s stay
- May eliminate the requirement to serve food
