Alexander Mountain Fire and Stone Cayon Fire Update
The Stone Canyon Fire has been 100% contained. The fire impacted 1,557 acres and destroyed five homes. The Alexander Mountain Fire has reached nearly full containment and is estimated to have impacted 9,668 acres. Highway 34 is now completely open from Loveland to Estes Park.
After a wildfire, flash flooding can occur. If you live in the Stone Canyon or Alexander Mountain burn scar, be aware of your surroundings. In the event of a flood warning, stay tuned to local weather alerts, move to higher ground, and always avoid driving through flood waters. The Colorado Association of Ski Towns is planning to bring a vacancy tax and a real estate transfer fee on all property sales to lawmakers this year.
