We want to provide you with the latest updates on the Alexander Mountain Fire and the Stone Canyon Fire. Your safety and the safety of your guests are our top priorities.  We urge you to follow the EVSTRA Facebook group, as we will continue to share updated information there. 

Current Road Closures:

  • Highway 36 and Highway 7 westbound through Lyons: Now closed to everyone except Lyons residents due to the Stone Canyon Fire.
  • Highway 34: Closed since yesterday due to the Alexander Mountain Fire.
  • Highway 7 through Nederland: Currently remains open.

Please communicate with your guests about these closures and advise them on alternative routes to and from Estes Park.

Boulder Office of Disaster Management:

Estes Valley Fire Protection District:

  • Fire restrictions will begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31st. For details on the restrictions, visit Fire Restrictions & Bans.

Alexander Mountain Fire Resources:

  • The fire is located in Roosevelt National Forest north of U.S. 34 and west of the Dam Store. For official updates from the U.S. Forest Service, follow their Facebook page.

  • The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating evacuations. Reach the Joint Information Center at 970-980-2500.
  • View the evacuation map and sign up for updates at NoCoAlert.org.
  • Text LCEVAC to 888777 to receive text alerts about evacuations, road closures, and other important updates.
  • Evacuation centers are set up at Namaqua Elementary School (209 N Namaqua Ave) and the Estes Park Events Complex (1125 Rooftop Way).
  • Large animals can be evacuated to The Ranch Events Center & Complex (5400 Arena Cir, Loveland). Small animals can be evacuated to NoCo Humane (970-226-3647 opt. 0).
  • Road Closures: U.S. 34 is closed in both directions between Mall Road and North CR 29. CR 43 is open to local traffic only. For updates on state highways, visit CoTrip.org.

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office:

  • Mandatory evacuations are in place along County Road 43 from Drake to just west of Old Bridge Rd. The Estes Park Events Complex at 1125 Rooftop Way is an evacuation site.
